Under cloudy skies and fading light, had a nice opportunity to visit the Woburn Peregrines and found the female atop one of her favorite utility pole perch locations. She sat and watched her local world without a concern or distraction. The top of the pole is about 40 feet in height and affords terrific views of the local area. At one point she launched into flight, made a one large circular loop and returned to the pole perch!

Was able to visit the Woburn Peregrines in late afternoon a bit earlier than normal. Under late afternoon light, had nice looks at the adult male as the final streaks of direct light were cast upon the nest ledge and the perched adult male. Shortly after, he flew off to the west and perched on a rocky ledge behind one of the nearby industrial buildings.

Another stunning morning with amazing blue skies and radiant sunshine! Made a pass by the Woburn Peregrines and was blessed to find the adult female perched again on a utility pole in the SW corner of the parking complex. She perched quietly and spent a bunch of her time preening and basking in the sun. Her position allowed for nice looks and an ability to see her bi-colored left leg bands with the alphanumeric “32/BC” numbers and letters. Her adult plumage looks terrific!

The female has taken a liking to a regular perch atop a utility pole in the SW corner of the overall parking lot. She likes to just sit and watch with a good view of the nest ledge in the distance. This was a stunning morning with cobble blue skies, brilliant sunshine and light winds. She is easy to identify from her leg bands but also from her lateral chest barring which still shows as much thicker than the males chest barring!

Found the female peregrine in Woburn this morning as she was resting comfortably inside the nest ledge. The male whizzed by and about a few times but she remained in place. They have been quite a bit together near the nest ledge nest and nearby. The are mindful of each other’s whereabouts but not overly concerned. they tend not to squawk at each other very much during this time of the year.
