Peregrines atop the Monarch Lofts!

December 12, 2012 in Near the Clock Tower

The pair of Peregrines were perched on the north side of the Monarch Loft apartment building roof on the morning of Wed., Dec. 12th.  They had just captured breakfast and the female was making the most of the feather flying feast on the rootop.  White feathers were flying everywhere from the mantling action of the female while the male nearby looked on.  According to Chris Martin, senior biologist at NH Audubon, the female is ripping apart a decapitated and partly disemboweled pigeon!
