Another bright sunny morning with the male peregrine falcon quietly perching on a rocky outcropping just to the west of the nest ledge. Very little other activity nearby!

Peregrine Falcon: Woburn female on pole

Made a pass by the Woburn Peregrines this morning under cloudy and overcast conditions as the morning temperatures have been in high 20’s and low 30’s. This morning had light winds from the southwest. The new female was perched on one of the utility poles, in this case, the pole with the double set of two cross bars. It was squawking quite a bit and then flew off to the quarry wall and landed in the nest used by the ravens early last breeding season!

A sparkling sunny morning with amazing blue skies….the male peregrine falcon on one of his regular perch locations just to the west of the nest ledge, basking in the morning sun; no sign of the female nearby!

Made a short visit to visit the Woburn Peregrines in early afternoon under partly sunny skies and very windy conditions with huge wind gusts at 30+ MPH. Temps in mid-forties. Upon arrival found the male peregrine perched to the west of the nest ledge in one of the regular locations. Heard the gentle soft call of the female, but at first unable to locate her. Finally found her just to east of the male at almost the same height. She called quite a few times, but softly and quietly. Watched her a bit while preening and keeping an eye on her surroundings!

Another one of these stunning mornings with blue skies and bright sun! The male peregrine was perched atop the pinnacle rock which always has a bit of whitewash. It is located above and to the right of the nest ledge. While observing the perched male, he let loose with a forceful stream of whitewash, adding to the existing vertical white streaks in place!

The new female was seen again late this afternoon just before official sunset time. Late day clouds moved in this afternoon, so lighting conditions became quite a challenge! The female was found perched on one of the south side utility poles with the double cross bars. With less that 20 minutes until official sunset and fading light, was just able to capture this backside image.

Another bright sunny morning with cobalt blue skies, temps rising into the mid 40’s and great looks at the male Peregrine Falcon perched just below and to the west of the nest ledge. It spent a bit of time looking around and over its shoulder, but with no birds or other creatures in sight!

Had a nice visit this morning with terrific looks at the male peregrine while perched just below nest ledge and looking off to the south under clear skies with sparkling sunshine and endless visibility. The female not around last few days.

Discovered the male settled in behind the the nest ledge this morning. It was an overcast morning November morning with the sun making every effort to break through! He stayed in place for quite a while with no distractions.

The male peregrine falcon was very active in flight on this sunny Saturday morning, making numerous aerial loops around the nest ledge before finally settling in to rest and loaf for a while!
