The owlet continues to grow and become more alert. The owlet eyes are more wide opena nd the posture is more erect each day. the owlet seems much more aware of passing birds and reacts quicker than noticed on previous visits!

The white downy plumage has now been completely replaced by the grayish brown plumage and the owlet now stands taller and on its own with eyes now a bit more open!

The Great Horned Owl continues to keep watch over the owlet and the owlet grows a bit bigger each day!

The Great Horned Owl continues to keep a close and watchful eye on the growing owlet. The two remain closely snuggled together in the nest amidst constant activity around them from the busy Great Blue Heron rookery. In addition, the Red-winged Blackbirds are all over the place making all kinds of noise. the owlet is growing a bit each day and hopes run high for the owlet to get bigger and stronger in the weeks ahead!

Great Horned Owl and chick in the nest at the Nevins Sanctuary! A bit of an overcast morning with chick starting to sit up a bit taller compared to prior visits. Still looking to see if a second chick in the nest, but another is not in sight!
