Checked on the Lawrence Peregrines on the way to work and found the male perched on one of the upper ledges above the clock face!

A cloudy overcast morning with spring in the air and warming temperatures! Both peregrines seen around the clock tower with male making a food exchange with female as part of courtship process….always nice to see both falcons in close proximity!

Made a late afternoon visit to the Clock Tower to find the unbanded female moving around to a number of perch locations. She ended up on a lower ledge below the clock face on a NW corner of the tower. She spent a few minutes squawking in an effort to call the male’s attention! It’s that time of year!!

Beautiful late afternoon looks at the unbanded female after a series of solo aerial drills with the male nowhere in sight. She had been perched on a protruding steel beam at the roof line along the west wing of the New Balance building. She ended up at the nest box perch rod in golden late day sun!
Peregrines: Woburn pair

Quite a show watching the Woburn Peregrine Falcons this morning. The adult male was seen in constant motion around the quarry. Then it captured and ripped apart a mourning dove, at one point hauling the full body to another proximate location. the juvenile female, was seen perched on a nearby light pole and then it took in fast pursuit.

This morning the male peregrine was perched on a west facing ledge above the Clock Tower. Over the past few weeks, the male has been seen with regularity, but the unbounded female has been no where in sight. This time of year, they are normally seen in closer proximity to one another as the start of the breeding season gets ready to launch! Stay tuned!

The adult male peregrine is seen almost daily around the Ayer Mills Clock Tower in a variety of perch locations. This morning it was spotted from quite a distance, on the opposite side of the Merrimack River, on the north side of the Clock Tower on a ledge above and to the right of the clock face. This is one of the many regular perch locations around the Clock Tower.

The male continues his daily routine of staying close to the hot air exhaust vents at the Verizon Cell Tower. This week the female has been seen very little. With courtship time ready to happen, we should them together more often and the center of activities back to the Clock Tower!

The male Peregrine Falcon was perched atop the Verizon Cell Tower mid-morning and then moved back to one of the south facing ledges with the hot air exhaust vents. It seemed to enjoy basking in the bright sun, under clear skies, and temps in the mid-thirties. Courtship season is ready to happen!

Minutes after sunset, stopped by the Verizon Cell Tower to find the banded male Peregrine (6/4) in the midst of a late afternoon meal. Looks like it may have been ripping apart a freshly caught Bluejay. Just able to capture some low light images!
