October 8, 2015 in Near the Clock Tower

One of the peregrines was seen this morning on a short protruding steel beam above 250 Merrimack Street on the south side of the building just below the roofline.  This is a favorite morning perch and provides abundant morning sun and warmth!

Peregrine: Woburn

October 8, 2015 in Peregrine Falcon Woburn

The Woburn Peregrines frequently choose to hang out in a number of nooks and crannies on a vertical rock ledge.  At times, they may be partially hidden by the shade of outcroppings or nearby vegetation.  It’s always nice to scan and find them in some of these hideaway locations!

Peregrines in courtship mode!

April 1, 2015 in In the Nest Box

The peregrines are now spending significant time in the nestbox and exhibiting all kinds of courtship behavior including mutual ledge displays and lots of nest scraping by both male and female. The female was bowing and calling out to the male from the outside perch.  The male flew into the nestbox and then left shortly thereafter.  These are all signs of courtship and hopefully will result in eggs being laid in next few days!
