Stopped for a look at the Woburn peregrines this morning to find the juvenile peregrine snug in one of the rocky ledges. The winds were blowing SW at 14 with gusts up to 25. It was partly sunny and a warm 46 degrees!

The male continues his daily routine of staying close to the hot air exhaust vents at the Verizon Cell Tower. This week the female has been seen very little. With courtship time ready to happen, we should them together more often and the center of activities back to the Clock Tower!

The male Peregrine Falcon was perched atop the Verizon Cell Tower mid-morning and then moved back to one of the south facing ledges with the hot air exhaust vents. It seemed to enjoy basking in the bright sun, under clear skies, and temps in the mid-thirties. Courtship season is ready to happen!

Minutes after sunset, stopped by the Verizon Cell Tower to find the banded male Peregrine (6/4) in the midst of a late afternoon meal. Looks like it may have been ripping apart a freshly caught Bluejay. Just able to capture some low light images!

The Lawrence Peregrines go to, or remain, at the Verizon Cell Tower on cold days to enjoy the warm air exhaust vents on the south side of the building. This morning they both sat on the same sixth floor ledge, in the sun and enjoying the warm air!

On the colder days, the Lawrence Peregrines continue to nestle in on the ledges next to the hot air exhaust vents on the sough side of the Verizon cell Tower in Lawrence. The ledges provide just enough room to squeeze in and take advantage of the warm air!

The Peregrines continue to be seen daily around the extended Clock Tower building and nearby. They tend to stay in fairly close proximity to one another. This morning, the female was on lower, east facing ledge with some prey in its grip. the male was nearby atop one of the triangular rooftop pediments. What fun to watch them both move around a few times! This photo shows the unbounded female making a graceful landing with wings fully outstretched!

First time seen in this location, with prey in talon, the female looks like she has grabbed prey and might have been thinking about stashing it away in a nearby rotted gutter with an opening for dry storage. The male joined her before she flew off to the west!

Looked all over for the peregrines this morning only to find one of them in the west facing nest box. As we get closer to breeding season, it is normal to find them just hanging out in or just outside the nest box!

Patience is often a well rewarded virtue in the birding world. Observed male peregrine for almost an hour this morning under blue skies, bright sun, winds NW at 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH, and wind chill in low teens. The patience paid off with opportunity to capture photos that allowed later for positive ID by way of the black 6 over green 4 colored leg bands on the leg ankle. This peregrine in the long standing champion male at the Lawrence nest in the Ayer Mill Clock Tower!
