Lawrence Peregrines: male perched Verizon Cell Tower

_W7I0414-001A number of the Lawrence peregrine falcons have been seen with regularity in perch mode on the Verizon Cell Tower in Lawrence.  Both the adults and the 2016 hatch year fledglings have used this as a recent perch location. The cell tower is located at the corner of Hampshire st. and Canal st. in Lawrence.  The lighting was a challenge for this image.  The temp was 87 degrees with clear skies and winds from NW at 9 miles per hour.

Peregrine Falcon: Woburn male at nest ledge

_W7I0390-001Made a brief stop this morning to observe the Woburn Peregrines.  The adult male was perched at the nest ledge and enjoying the shade in what was going to be a very hot day.  The adult male has used this perch quite a bit over the past week.  It was 74 degrees at the time of the visit with clear skies and light winds from the north.

_W7I9756-001Made a morning visit to observe the Woburn Peregrines.  A beautiful morning with bright sun, clear skies, temps in low 70’s and calm with no wind.  The male swooped from a perch west of the nest ledge and then landed with prey in talons on a shaded rocky ledge slightly to west and below the nest ledge to enjoy a morning snack!

_W7I9575-001The male peregrine falcon was seen perched at the edge of the 2016 hatch year nest ledge.  this haas been a common perch location for each of the falcons since the single chick fledged weeks ago!
